palm springs // travel scrapbook | personal

Palm Springs is a magical little place.  The desert temperature in December is perfect, the salt water pool is refreshing, strawberry smoothies are delicious as are the lemons, grapefruits and satsumas you can pick right off the trees.  As we are hearing about another storm coming later this week, these photos transport me right back to my lounge chair by the pool.

los angeles // travel scrapbook | personal

If ever there was a time to go through your holiday photos from a couple of months back, it has been this week.  With two separate snow days and 2 kids and 1 adult going stir crazy it was a nice chance to look back and reminisce about warmer climates and tropical breezes (well at least more tropical then the bitter cold that the east coast is facing).  This first installment is of our time in L.A. right after Christmas.  Oh west coast - how I miss you.  Next up is Palm Springs..

beautiful bowen island, bc | personal

Our last day in BC was spent on the beautiful island of Bowen. I have such fond memories of spending weekends over there at one of my best friend's cabin. There is such a peacefulness and calmness felt the minute you step foot on the island. Jumping into the cool Pacific Ocean will be one of my favorite memories of this summer holiday.

alt summit new york

Alt Summit NY was last week and what a day it was! It is a bloggers conference filled with a few hundred creative thinkers and artistic entrepreneurs who are able to meet up and share ideas and their stories. The day is filled with speakers, delicious food and lots + lots of fun swag and give-aways. I was especially excited to hear the amazing line-up of guest speakers ... Grace Bonney from Design Sponge, Tracey Stewart from Moomah, Pilar Guzman from MS Living and my favorite style icon Garance Dore. Of course there were many more speakers who inspired the crowd and made the event fabulous. The event took place at the Martha Stewart Headquarters which is always a lovely backdrop. Of course Martha also made a special appearance. Kudos to Gabrielle Blair from Design Mom and her sister Sara for putting on a spectacular event.
